DECEMBER 2015- HOW WE MET

This story all began in 2015 December when a medical intern came to work at Savanna-la-Mar hospital in Jamaica. I met this young woman after church at the Savanna-la-Mar Seventh Day Adventist Church. She claimed to be a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian from another country. I had been a missionary for God. I had been for years by a pledge to God. However, there are times when I join work programs or work for people to make a living. This is consistent with the evangelistic life of Paul. He worked for the souls of men and at times spent time laboring for his needs. Such had been my life before I met my wife.

I hooked up with her and things were running quite smoothly before marriage. During courtship, I explicitly said my will is to work for the Lord. She said she has no problem as she would come with me as a missionary. I said "well maybe I am going to be away sometimes by myself" and she expressed some sadness. Whether her emotions were true love or not, I thought it was.

She promised that she would make the decision after a year to marry me or not to marry. After the year passed she married me. We went to Guyana and told the parents. She told her father that this is what she wants and she is happy with the choice. I was very glad. Her father questioned her in front of me if this is what she wants. She said yes and confirmed it with confidence.

However, nothing was said to me up to the marriage. We married and I thought she was really glad. I can't tell what was happening on the inside. Months later, she expressed that it was a mistake and she was hesitant to marry on that particular day. This is where the drama all began to escalate.

Question: Did this woman trick me?
Would you trust someone like this?
